Automatic client reminders for accountants
Last updated: October 20, 2026
In short: Glasscubes chases clients for you. Every information request sends reminders by email, and by text message if you choose, before and after the due date. They stop as soon as the client has completed the request, so nobody in your team has to keep track of who still owes what. Reminders are included on every plan.
How the reminders work
- Before the due date: one reminder, timed to how far away the deadline is: 5 days before a deadline more than 10 days out, 2 days before a closer one, and on the day for a deadline only a few days away.
- After the due date: by default, three more reminders, four days apart. You can change how many are sent and how often, request by request.
- Your own schedule: a request template can carry its own reminders, any number of days or weeks before or after the due date, each with its own message.
- Text messages: switch on SMS reminders in a template and clients also get a short text with a link straight to their request.
- Timing: reminders go out at 9am.
When they stop
Reminders stop as soon as the client completes the request. They also stop when you put a request on hold, archive it or switch its reminders off, and clients can unsubscribe from reminder emails.
Clients who still don’t reply
Your inbox groups the requests that have stalled: delivered but never opened, overdue with no reminders left, or an email that bounced. You can see who needs a personal call. You can send a reminder with your own message at any time, and clients can answer by replying to a reminder email.
What firms see
Firms that adopt Glasscubes report a 50% reduction in the time clients take to respond to requests, and 40% more responses to requests for information. “We are seeing a 40% uptick on information being received, which makes a huge difference to December and January deadlines,” says Conor McManus, Private Client Tax Senior Manager at Menzies LLP. Another customer, Sophie Montgomery, says Glasscubes saved her firm around 288 hours of resource in its first tax year.
