BrightManager alternatives: how Glasscubes compares

Where Glasscubes is stronger
BrightManager is UK practice management software from Bright for accountants, bookkeepers and payroll bureaus. If what slows your firm down is clients not sending what you asked for, the question is whether you need a new practice system or a better way to ask.
Built to get information in
Requests, reminders, reporting and AI review for the information chase, across personal tax, accounts, payroll and audit, without moving your practice onto a new system.
AI on the documents clients send
AI Assist extracts and summarises figures from client documents and flags what is missing. BrightManager's product page sets out Bright's AI principles but does not describe AI reading client documents.
Lower cost for a team
Ten users on Glasscubes Essential cost £240 a month on annual billing, £2,880 a year, excluding VAT. BrightManager publishes its Essential plan at £409.25 + VAT per user a year on annual billing, which is £4,092.50 + VAT for ten. The two do different jobs, so this compares price only.
UK data and ISO 27001
Data is stored in AWS data centres in the UK, and Glasscubes is ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials certified. BrightManager's product page does not say where data is hosted.

Where BrightManager is the better buy
Three things worth knowing before you switch, including the cases where BrightManager is the better buy.
-
BrightManager runs the whole practice
BrightManager's site lists task and deadline workflows, time tracking, proposals and profitability reporting. Glasscubes is for getting information in from clients. If you want one system to run the practice, choose BrightManager.
-
Onboarding and AML checks are built in
BrightManager automates client onboarding, including AML checks, risk assessments and requests for HMRC agent authorisation. We do not run KYC or AML checks.
-
It connects to your accounts software
BrightManager lists integrations with Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, Sage and Companies House, and with other Bright products. If one connected suite matters, weigh that, and ask us on a demo about the connections you need.
Worth a look if…
-
Clients are the bottleneck, not the team
If work stalls waiting for client information, fix that first with a tool built for it, and keep your practice system.
-
You want chasing and AI review without a migration
Add Glasscubes for the information chase rather than moving the whole practice.
-
You want to run the whole practice in one place
Choose BrightManager. It does far more than collect information, and we would rather tell you now.
See it on your own client list
Bring a real request list and we will build it with you on the call. No annual commitment.
