Password protected file sharing and folders

We've made some updates a while ago that we wanted to bring to you attention in case you missed this new extra functionality on your account. When managing projects or working on sales proposals you quite often need to share a file, document or folder securely with a client. Normally most people will send these via email, which is totally NOT secure, and is not encoded in anyway - your files can easly be intercepted.

We've had the ability to share files and folders quickly and easly without having to download and attach to an email, see this post to share folders online and the post on sharing files online.

What we have done now is add the functionality to password protected this 'share'. Its really simple to use , just click on the 'Share this file' as normal and now you will see a link to set the password if you wish. Just click on this link and enter the password twice:

Thats it! - now you can share the link with anyone, and they will need to use the password to access the file/document, which can be pre arranged or shared via phone. When they click on the share link they will see the following:

 

Once they have entered the password they can access the file. We hope you find this useful.
