THE SOCIETY OF RADIOGRAPHERS (SoR) is the trade union and professional body for radiographers and all non-medical members of the workforce in diagnostic imaging and radiotherapy in the UK. They are responsible for their professional, educational, public and workplace interests.
Founded in 1920, SoR is one of the oldest and most experienced radiography organisations in the world. The Society shape the healthcare agenda and lead opinion on a wide range of professional issues. Setting standards that become the policies adopted and acclaimed by governments and health professionals worldwide.
“We chose Glasscubes because it does what it says out of the box, with little friction. We’ve been using the service for the last couple of years and found that they provide excellent customer service and a seamless user experience. I would recommend them to any organisation that needs to quickly deploy a workspace solution with a good social/community component.”

The Challenge
The Society’s membership is open to anyone working in clinical imaging, radiotherapy and oncology throughout the world. It represents the whole of the radiographic workforce - practitioners, assistant practitioners, support workers and student radiographers. One of the benefits of becoming a member is gaining access to a diverse set of special interest groups that focus on specialist areas of radiography. Members are invited to a forum that allows them to share information and collaborate with other members.
“We were using Google Groups before Glasscubes. However, privacy was an issue and became a major concern for the group. We decided to look for an alternative but knew that whatever technology we employed needed to allow us to invite members to join the online forum and engage with the community immediately, without the need for training. Since the launch of Glasscubes we have had an enthusiastic response from our external groups for providing them a place to share knowledge and user engagement with the platform has grown significantly", explains Statnikov.
The Solution
After considering several options SoR chose Glasscubes, in part because we are ISO27001 accredited for information security management and fully comply with SoR's data protection and privacy requirements. Another consideration was that following a period of extensive testing the feedback that was recevied from SoR users confirmed that the interface was user-friendly and intuitive enough that there was no requirement for user training.
“Having the ability for the end user to contact Glasscubes support directly, is a great benefit of the system. You are going straight to the best source of support and information.”
